Filters are what makes Equishark stand out. They are an extremely powerful tool to assist you in narrowing down the list of stocks so that you can select those stocks that you are most interested in. You can either add these to a watch list to keep an eye on or to a portfolio where you can monitor the value of that portfolio over time.

The ‘Filter’ section allows you to create, modify and delete stock filters.

Pro Discover Selected

Equishark comes with a set of pre-defined ‘stock filters’ that you can use, copy/modify. Additionaly you can create your own filters. The current set of filters is shown as a set of buttons near the top of the page. Clicking on one of the buttons displays the details of the filter as well as the stocks that are selected by that filter.

To create a new filter press the ‘+ New filter’ button. A blank filter is created with a set of default fields selected. Alternatively you can select an existing filter that is close to what you want and copy it, then modify it to make it exactly as you want it.

Enter a unique name for the filter and a description.

From the list of fields below select any fields that you want to have in your filter and add the value ranges for this field.

To unselect a field just click on the selection button to the left of the field

As you are editing the fields the resulting stocks selected are shown.

Selected Stocks

To create a CSV of the selected stocks for use in other applications click the ‘Download as CSV’ button. This will ask you to select a location to save the CSV in. It will be saved as the name of the exchange the stocks are selected from appended with ‘_query’ or if that name already exists appended with a unique number.

When all the changes have been made press the ‘Save’ button to store the result.
